Continuous Improvement Business Systems Specialist II (PPI)

This outstanding opportunity at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. allows you to work with collaborators to facilitate the Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Business System, driving efficiencies and improving the customer experience. Working closely with customers, you will lead by example, applying RCCM and PPI training to implement structured problem-solving techniques. Your role involves leading projects, kaizen events, and improving systems to eliminate waste. You'll also support lean fundamentals like visual management/5S, value stream mapping, standard work, metric boards, stand-up meetings, and project funnel coordination. Developing team capabilities through training and mentoring is a core component of this role.
Key Responsibilities- Lead functional teams to streamline processes, improving customer experience, enabling growth, and improving colleague retention.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement to improve vital metrics associated with customer, finance, people, and quality.
- Support the development of problem-solving capabilities at all organizational levels.
- Train and mentor teams to ensure sustained system improvements, enabling collaborators to independently run processes.
- Collaborate with the site PPI steering committee to accelerate culture change and support the PPI Business System.
- Provide ongoing support to rapid responder teams on the floor to drive countermeasures.
- Lead and mentor by example through completing Kaizen and RCCM activities.
- Identify new projects through value stream mapping, data analysis, and daily management systems, improving efficiency.
- Collaborate with the PPI Network to develop, promote, standardize, and share standard methodologies.
- Associate’s degree in engineering, science, operations, or business.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence leadership and all levels within the organization.
- A complete thinker capable of integrating and streamlining systems site-wide.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement in both operational and non-operational processes using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Passion for driving improvement and leading change.
- Track record of developing, training, and mentoring teams.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, oral, and presentation abilities.
- Broad knowledge of multi-functional processes and financial business methods.
- High ethical standards supporting a professional business code of conduct.
- Creative problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Leadership experience in operations, commercial, engineering, quality, or product management.
- Lean Practitioner with 1+ years of experience and a hands-on track record of implementing successful TPS fundamentals.
- Expertise in formal problem-solving programs or processes.
