Job DescriptionPay Rate: $40.50 per hour.
Shift: Monday - Friday
Hours: 1PM - 9:30PM
(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am)
- To supervise a crew of mechanics in maintaining a tractor/trailer fleet, company autos and any special machinery including the company’s rolling stock. Consideration must be given to cost efficiency, safety and quality for all repairs.
- Perform repairs on various power units including DYNO testing and road testing
- Supervise mechanics and lube personnel and assist as needed
- Enforce safe working habits and environment
- Keep BIT schedule up to date and correct
- Able to use lap-top computer and other diagnostic tools
- Coordinate road service calls
- Coordinate with internal customers
- Create SAP work orders for technicians and complete special order parts paperwork
- Enforce environmental procedures for facility
- Provide training and keep employees current on technology and methods of repair
- Perform and monitor periodic smoke check program
- Don Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Minimum five (5) years experience on heavy duty truck repair. Formal training preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Must be able to read and understand technical material and explain to personnel
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English, which includes reading and writing legibly
- Must be able to work safely and help maintain a safe work environment
- Ability to train for and obtain a Class A license
- Must have good leadership skills
- Must be able to work various shifts, overtime, weekends, and occasional holidays as needed
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to bend over and squat
- Must be able to continuously be on feet throughout the shift
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated
- Must be able to climb in and out of trucks continually throughout the shift
- Electronic/electrical experience required
- Candidate must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the operations of the plant, hatchery, ranch, feed mill or other facility at which he/she works and apply a general knowledge of environmental regulations to those operations
- Candidate must hold a supervisory position and have the authority to direct the environmental activities of other workers
- Candidate must be willing to learn and capable of understanding basic regulatory concepts and performing general and specialized environmental assignments as required by regulatory agencies under the guidance of the Environmental Affairs Manager. He/she must integrate his/her recognized knowledge of operations at his/her assigned facility with environmental compliance activities and provide primary plant leadership on all routine environmental compliance efforts
- Must be able to perform all functions of preceding tech levels
- Must perform to established time standards for commonly performed repairs
- Must adhere to Foster Farms and State Environmental regulations.
- Must be able to use laptop computer as a diagnostic and repair tool.
- Must be computer literate
- Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check
- Must adhere to Foster Farms Lone Worker policy
- Must keep a clean and orderly shop
- Must maintain class C driver's license with acceptable driving record for Foster Farms Standards
