About the Role  

The Power Supply Supervisor role combines deep technical ownership of electrical power architecture with people leadership, cross-functional coordination, and program management responsibility — ensuring that power supply commodities meet quality, cost, and timing targets from concept through launch on all global Ranger/Everest/Bronco programs.

Reporting directly to the Electrical Distribution System & Power Supply Manager, this position is based at our International Marketing Group Product Development Centre in Broadmeadows, Melbourne. This role operates under a hybrid work arrangement, requiring four days on-site.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and validation of Power Supply systems (e.g., load balance analysis, CAE of electrical loads on vehicle) for new programs, ensuring on-time gateway delivery and sign-off.

  • Direct the development and sign-off of software calibrations impacting Power Supply systems, including BMS and load shedding.

  • Serve as the primary technical authority and escalation point for the Program Module Sub-Team (PMST) for Power Supply, driving delivery of all program milestones related to Power Supply commodities and systems.

  • Own quality targets for Power Supply commodities and systems, driving root-cause analysis and corrective actions as needed.

  • Own material cost targets for Power Supply commodities and systems, balancing performance, quality, and cost trade-offs across the program lifecycle.

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers by setting clear objectives, providing coaching and regular performance feedback, supporting capability development and training, and driving design and process improvements. 

  • Partner with cross-functional teams—including other engineering groups, manufacturing, purchasing, and service organizations, locally and overseas—to align on requirements, resolve issues, and deliver integrated solutions.

  • Manage technical risk and contingency planning to safeguard program timing and gateway commitments.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with global engineering centres and plants to support program execution and delivery on Power Supply systems.

Qualifications

About you

 

  • Tertiary qualification required (Electrical or Aeronautical Engineering preferred).

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience leading teams in a technical environment.

  • Automotive experience preferred with demonstrable understanding of complex automotive systems and power supply including 12v battery, alternator, starter motor, BMS and systems software and calibration delivery. Working knowledge of 12v power supply systems in vehicle and core electrical concepts.

  • Proven track record in applying structured problem-solving methods and failure mode avoidance in vehicle power supply systems and validation.

  • Excellent leadership skills: Delivery to the highest technical & program standards under pressure. Proactive demonstration of ownership and accountability. Managing priorities, be agile and comfortable with ambiguity and fast paced environment. Effective communication, both verbal and written. Ability to influence and build strong cross functional relationships. Experience in coaching and developing team members to grow technical and professional capability.
