We are in search of a highly motivated Power Platform Developer for their Operations Analytics Team. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to create and support business applications, dynamic reports, and workflows using Power BI, PowerApps, Power Automate, and SharePoint. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply and grow their skill set in application development, data management, automation, and analytics.
As a Power BI Developer, you will:
- Oversee Power BI development and administration.
- Develop visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop.
- Connect to data sources, importing data from a variety of sources such as SQL Server / Azure SQL Database, SharePoint, text files and Excel and transforming data for Business Intelligence.
- Excel in analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports.
- Implement row level security on data and understand application security layer models in Power BI.
- Expertly make DAX queries in Power BI desktop to create Measures and Calculated Columns.
- Proficiently use Power Query with the user interface.
- Have expertise in using advance level calculations on the data set.
- Create and contribute to technical documentation such as installation plans, operation guides, and training plans.
- Develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with warehouse standards.
- Develop, Publish, and schedule Power BI reports as per the business requirements.
- Develop data models according to the business requirements.
- Test compliance of deliverable assets compared to their specifications, such as a Power BI report compared to its design specifications.
- Have knowledge and skills for secondary tools such as Microsoft Azure, SQL data warehouse, etc.
- Integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics like Power BI service, or by API automation.
- Develop custom visuals for Power BI.
- Interpret and design database models, integrating existing dataflows within SQL Server, etc.
- Integrate Power BI Reports and dashboards into an embedded space.
Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science or Information System. Will accept experience in lieu of
- Experience of 3+ years in data preparation, data gateway and data warehousing projects.
- Experience of 3+ years and familiarity with Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack having Power BI, SSAS, SSIS.
- 3 to 4 years of experience working with a self-service tool, preferably Power BI.
- Should be familiar and experienced in SQL.
- Familiarity with Power Platform, PowerApps, model driven app, SQL, SharePoint online, Azure, Web Services.
- Familiarity with agile software delivery methodologies such as Scrum.
- Strong client-facing written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and stay flexible in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong interest and ability to quickly improve efficiency and effectiveness in new tasks.
- Innovative thinker, able to envision how Power Platform technology can be implemented to solve complex software or business challenges.
- Must have Co-Pilot studio experience this is the key skill – this skill is new to the industry so we should not expect to find individuals with a lot of experience
- SharePoint and Power Automate are required as well
Preferred Skills
- Microsoft Power BI Certification.
- Microsoft Power Platform Certification.
- Experience in designing and developing entities in PowerApps.
- Familiar with custom code extension for Power Platform is a plus (e.g., Client-side Scripting, .Net Plug-ins, Custom connectors).
- Ability to create and manage objects in SQL Server / Azure SQL Database such as Tables and Views.
- Proficient querying skills against Microsoft SQL Server using SQL Server Management Studio into the intermediate level (various JOINs, WHERE clause, GROUP BY, HAVING and ORDER BY clauses, CASE expressions, and windowing functions).
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Confidently deliver training on assets such as Power BI reports and Power Apps.
- Develop ETL pipelines using both SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and/or Microsoft Power Automate.
