Power Platform Consultant

Title: Power BI/Power Platform

Location: Deerfield Beach, FL (Hybrid 3/2)

Contract: 6 Months with Extensions

Overview

We are seeking a Power Platform Consultant to support an enterprise platform team. This role focuses on building and enhancing reporting solutions, data models, and automated workflows using Microsoft Power Platform to drive business intelligence and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities (Listed in Priority Order)

Power BI & Data

• Develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models
  
• Write advanced DAX measures (e.g., time intelligence, rolling metrics)
  
• Build and manage dataflows using Power Query for data transformation
  
• Implement efficient data models and reusable data assets
  
• Manage deployments across Dev/Test/Prod environments
  
• Integrate data from Dataverse, SharePoint, Azure, and external APIs
  

Power Apps & Automation

• Develop Power Apps (canvas and model-driven) for business processes
  
• Build and maintain Power Automate workflows for integrations and approvals
  
• Design Dataverse schemas and data relationships
  
• Integrate with external systems via APIs and custom connectors
  
• Troubleshoot and optimize apps, flows, and reports
  

Collaboration & Support

• Work in an Agile environment (standups, sprint planning, etc.)
  
• Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions
  
• Provide support and guidance on Power Platform best practices
  
• Document solutions and contribute to team knowledge sharing
  

Azure & DevOps

• Configure Azure AD app registrations and authentication (OAuth)
  
• Support secure integrations using Key Vault and managed identities
  
• Utilize Azure DevOps for work tracking and CI/CD
  

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience with Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate
  
• Strong DAX and Power Query skills
  
• Experience with data modeling and Power BI deployments
  
• Familiarity with Dataverse and SharePoint
  
• Working knowledge of Azure AD and API integrations
  
• Experience in Agile delivery environments
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft certifications (PL-300, PL-200)
  
• Experience with Power BI dataflows and deployment pipelines
  
• Familiarity with Azure services (Key Vault, Monitor, Log Analytics)
  
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub)

* Connecting API's from Power Automate, best approaches.

* Troubleshooting Power Automate failures: What are the possible scenarios? How to design to avoid failures.

Power Apps

* More into a model-driven approach and integrating with the Dataverse model driven.

* Scopes in PowerApps - Data source errors: How to identify.

* Types of errors that we faced connecting via Power Apps - Data Source errors, API Connection errors, and explained to us Wrappers?

* Explain the recent Power APP project I've built and all the steps and connectors used.

Power BI

* Source data refresh issues - how do we handle this?

* How to reduce load during Data Model design. What are the methods?

* Approaches for deployment across environments? - mentioned about TMDL and PBIP approach and DEV/TEST/PROD

Workspaces for deployment.

* Excel file: How to share across different environments for deployment.

* More of the Workspace standardization approach to regulate the environment
