Job Description Summary:The Power Markets Analyst – reporting to the Head of Market and Commercial Analysis – will
contribute to the development of the Market Analysis Team’s activities by supporting the
understanding of market fundamentals, regulatory evolution, and commercial dynamics
across the countries where the company operates. The role involves managing and developing
analytical tools to support the Energy Markets team and other business functions, enabling
informed decision-making in commercial strategy, hedging, and risk management.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

• Market Analysis – Analyse power and commodities fundamentals across geographies and translate market trends, fundamentals and regulatory developments into clear, actionable insights to support both day‑to‑day and strategic decision‑making.

• Market Reporting – Lead the preparation and delivery of consistent market‑view reports, ensuring they are accurate, well‑structured and insightful, and clearly communicate the implications for the company’s financial performance and risk management.

• Portfolio Analysis – Use the team's internal tool to review the company's portfolio, understanding exposure, value drivers and value-at-risk. Identify opportunities and areas for mitigation in line with business strategy.

• Commercial & Revenue Streams Support – Provide analytical support across all revenue streams (ancillary services, balancing, capacity, GoOs and others), contributing to portfolio optimisation and commercial decisions.

• New Business Models and regulation changes assessment – Explore emerging business models (storage, hydrogen, batteries, co‑location) and regulatory changes and assess market value and implications.

• Tools & Dashboards Monitoring – Maintain and monitor internal dashboards and analytical tools to ensure accurate data, proper functioning and useful outputs for Energy Markets and other company teams.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a similar role in utilities, IPPs, consulting firms, or other companies operating in energy markets.

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering or Economics, or Master's degree in a subject related to renewable/power markets.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders.

• Solid understanding of power markets, including price drivers, renewables, ancillary services and power system fundamentals, supported by practical experience.

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex datasets, identify key market drivers and deliver clear, actionable insights.

• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines, demonstrating strong planning, proactivity and ownership.

• Collaborative and proactive, with genuine motivation to contribute to team culture, knowledge‑sharing and team‑building activities.

• Fluency in Spanish and English.

• Knowledge of Power BI and Excel, including visualisation and DAX. Experience of Python, GAMS, PLEXOS or other modelling/optimisation tools would be an advantage
