Position Title: Power Engineer - Third Class

Under the direction of the Chief & Deputy Engineer, the successful applicant will assume duties and responsibilities as provided under the Power Engineers Act. In addition, this person will participate in key factory activities.
Duties :
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation as well as the maintenance of thermal oil heaters, steam generators, boiler, ammonia refrigeration systems, compressed air system and ancillary equipment
- Equipment and building systems maintenance including HVAC
- Administration duties include documentation of established water testing and monitoring requirements as well as use of SAP software
- Responsible for ensuring safe and efficient work practices as per regulations
- Participate in continuous improvement programs to meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators
- Support the environmental activities of the site, including waste treatment and compliance
- Involvement and management of external contractors, departmental projects including plant capital projects
- Additional duties as required
Requirements :
- Must hold a valid 3 rd Class Power Engineer's license
- Preference will be given to candidates with progress towards the 2 nd class license
- Must be willing to work rotating shift work in a plant environment, when needed
- Preference will be given to candidates with ammonia refrigeration system experience
- Experience using computerized operational control software
- Experience in team supervision with demonstrated ability to lead, influence, motivate, and train others will be considered a strong asset.
- Formalized project management training or demonstrated work experience is preferred
- Ability to work well with and provide support to plant supervision and production employees
