Department OverviewThe RF Site Hardware team is an organization within the Products and Solutions group of Motorola Solutions. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining sophisticated and highly reliable communications, infrastructure and networking products for Mission Critical and commercial communication products across a variety of global and markets and standards. The RF Site Hardware Engineering team develops state of the art Digital, RF, Mechanical and Power Supply solutions to meet customer's needs.
Job Description
The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing analog and DC power electronics for communications circuits. The initial assignment will comprise developing analog and DC power for the next generation of infrastructure products. Other assignments could comprise supporting field and factory issues related to analog and DC power on legacy products.
The candidate is expected to have experience in selecting appropriate topologies and developing DC power architecture and analog support. He/she should enjoy hands-on building and debugging of circuits. During the development phase of a project, the candidate would work closely with other engineers, suppliers and the factories in Mexico or Elgin, Illinois.
Desired Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of product development experience in the design and development of high reliability switch mode power supplies in the 5 to 1000 watt range and linear regulators from 0.01 to 5 watt range.

Strong background in analog circuit design and simulation tools such as SPICE.

Working knowledge of Cadence Schematic Capture or similar tool.

Sound analytic skills and able to troubleshoot circuits quickly.

Ability to manage multiple concurrent design projects.

Good writing and communication skills.

Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
2 years of DC power and analog design experience.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
