SDS seeks a Power BI SME to join an established team in Dahlgren, VA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data visualization, business intelligence, and analytics, with a strong focus on Power BI. This role will be responsible for leading the development of Power BI solutions, driving data-driven decision-making, and mentoring junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Create and optimize data models to ensure efficient data retrieval and reporting.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and translate them into technical specifications.
- Establish and promote best practices for Power BI development, including data governance, data quality, and performance optimization.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and team members on Power BI and data visualization techniques.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance the Power BI skills of team members and stakeholders.
- Project Management: Lead and manage Power BI projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Identify and resolve issues related to Power BI reports, dashboards, and data sources.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, with at least 3 years focused on Power BI.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred but not required.
- Active Secret security clearance
- IAT Level II certification required (Security +)
- Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, and Power Query.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Experience with SQL and database management systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Power BI certification or relevant business intelligence certifications.
- Experience with Azure Data Services or other cloud-based data solutions.
- Familiarity with machine learning and advanced analytics concepts.
