Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and data‑driven Power BI Developer to transform raw data into clear, meaningful insights that drive business decisions. In this role, you’ll design and optimize scalable BI solutions, collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners, and help shape a strong data culture across the organization. If you enjoy solving complex data problems, building intuitive dashboards, and enabling teams with actionable analytics, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do
Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and paginated outputs that address stakeholder needs.
Apply visualization best practices to improve readability, usability, and data storytelling.
Develop optimized semantic models using Power Query (M), DAX, and SQL, including relationships, calculation groups, and measures.
Improve performance using techniques such as incremental refresh, aggregations, and appropriate connectivity modes (Import vs. DirectQuery).
Integrate data from a wide range of sources, including Azure SQL/SQL Server, SharePoint/Excel, APIs, Azure DevOps, Salesforce, and product‑usage telemetry (e.g., Pendo).
Configure and maintain refresh schedules, dataflows, gateways, parameters, and dependable BI pipelines.
Implement strong governance and security practices, including row‑level security (RLS), workspace/app permissions, sensitivity labels, and audit standards.
Collaborate with business partners to translate requirements into BI solutions; lead design reviews and demos for leadership stakeholders.
Provide documentation, training, and self‑service enablement materials to improve BI adoption.
Monitor usage, diagnose issues, and support production lifecycle management across dev/test/prod environments.
Partner closely with Data Engineering on source quality, lineage, and change management.
What You Bring
Required:
Exposure to Azure DevOps metrics integration or administration.
3+ years building Power BI solutions (datasets, dataflows, DAX, visuals, apps).
DAX, M required.
Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex information clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
Experience using ADO REST API to integrate with PowerBI semantic models.
Advanced proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and SQL; strong understanding of star‑schema modeling.
Knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts and modern data platforms such as Fabric, Synapse, Databricks, or SSIS/ADF; familiarity with Python or R.
Experience in Agile environments and cross‑functional partnership.
Experience with Azure data services, including Azure SQL, Azure AD, and Power BI Service administration.
Soft Skills:
Strong collaboration and communication abilities.
Self‑motivated, curious, and committed to continuous learning.
Detail‑oriented with a high bar for quality.
Able to mentor others and model best practices.
