The Role
General Description: 
Supports with planning, performing tests, integration of electronic circuits and equipment, including medium to high-voltage (e.g. > 600V) switching amplifiers and circuits. An ideal candidate will thrive working with hardware in a hands-on role and will have knowledge of power electronics (e.g. linear power supplies, switching power supplies, transducer drivers, class-D audio amplifiers, power converters, or switch drivers) as well as analog, logic and radio frequency circuits. Testing will mainly include circuits based on high-voltage high-frequency SiC or GaN devices, but an opportunity also exists to work with microwave and mmW circuits, FPGA, and sub-systems. Support with augment the FPGA team directly through coding. Supporting and learning stress test / validating code. Learning and supporting with fabrication. Supporting test facility hands. 

Essential Duties:
Learn and support power electronics design, implementation and testing. Work within diverse teams, supporting with testing and integration of high-performance custom power electronics components and subsystems with switching frequencies up to 1 MHz or more. Examples are linear power supplies, switching power supplies, transducer drivers, class-D amplifiers, power converters, switch drivers, etc. Work with lead designers to develop and execute test plans; integrate and re-work experimental circuits; operate prototype equipment and test equipment; record, organize, analyze and document test data; and identify and work with management to procure/maintain needed equipment and tools.
 
Required Skills: 
Knowledge of testing and integrating power, control, or analog electronics is preferred. Knowledge of wiring, constructing, fabricating, assembling, or repairing physical items is preferred. Knowledge of SiC or GaN devices is preferred. Knowledge of FPGA programming is a plus. Experience with voltages above 1 kV is a plus. Experience with printed circuit board layout and circuit simulation (e.g. Altium, SPICE) is a plus.
Applicant must be able to interact professionally with program managers, co-workers, customers, and operate complex electronic equipment.
Ability to work well in a team and independently.
Must be willing to work in a team of highly skilled engineers on complex projects, and willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.


Required Education:
Bachelor’s program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field and hands-on lab experience.
 
Physical Requirements:
Ability to follow protocols to safely operate hazardous equipment.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and access equipment both on the floor and on a ladder.

Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $30 - $35 per hour.
