About the Opportunity
Job Summary
A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the Saavedra lab in the Department of Biology at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. The lab is interested in understanding mechanisms driving innate immune responses during host-pathogen interactions, and how commensal microbes shape host immunity in health and disease. The successful candidate for this role will join a multidisciplinary and highly collaborative research team and will lead research projects tailored to the candidate’s interest. The candidate will also have numerous opportunities for career and professional growth
Key Responsibilities
· Design, execute, analyze and interpret experiments independently
· Present research findings at lab meetings and scientific conferences
· Help with mentoring of undergraduate and graduate student
Qualifications
· Ph.D. in immunology, microbiology, cell biology or related areas
· Experience with in vivo animal models or multi-color flow cytometry are preferred
· At least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
· Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills with strong attention to detail
· Proactive, and able to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic, diverse, and growing team

$59,425.00 - $83,935.00With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role.
