Responsibilities and qualifications
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of quantum physicists, photonics engineers, and information theorists.
Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing broadband entanglement sources.
  • Leading the design and realization of phase-locking systems and advanced digital signal processing.
  • Designing, building, and optimizing experimental setups for high-rate MDI-CVQKD system.
  • Publishing results in high-impact journals and presenting at international conferences.
  • Contributing to the supervision of PhD students and the coordination with collaborating researchers.

We are seeking a researcher with strong experience in experimental quantum optics and a clear motivation to advance quantum communication technologies. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate scientific ambition, creativity in experimental design, and determination to achieve high-impact results.
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent). 
Moreover, the ideal candidate will have:

  • A PhD in physics, optical engineering, quantum technologies, photonics, or a closely related field.
  • Proven experience in experimental quantum optics, ideally including squeezed light and entanglement generation.
  • Strong hands-on experimental skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex optical and electronic systems.
  • Experience with high-speed data acquisition, digital signal processing, and optical phase-locking techniques.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative research environment.
  • A proactive and open mindset, including a willingness to share expertise and support junior researchers.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to the development of high-rate, scalable quantum communication technologies.

Salary and terms of employment 
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
The period of employment is 2 years. Starting date is according to mutual agreement, and the position is a full-time position.

Skills Required

  • PhD in physics, optical engineering, quantum technologies, photonics, or closely related field.
