Post-Quantum Cryptography Solutions Architect

Quantum Sky is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to drive the technical execution of our Post-Quantum Cryptography offerings. This role bridges strategy and delivery — translating customer requirements and organizational roadmaps into actionable engineering backlogs, driving business development through proposal responses and product demonstrations, and directly advising customers on their cryptographic transition and migration planning.  Ability to help build actionable PQC migration roadmaps and action plans tailored to their environment and risk tolerance.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Director to guide development teams in building out PQC product offerings.
• Translate customer and market requirements into well-defined epics, user stories, and a prioritized development backlog.
• Provide technical oversight to ensure implementations align with NIST PQC standards and sound cryptographic engineering practice.
• Contribute technical and market insight to inform PQC offering strategy and roadmap.
• Contribute technical responses including solution architecture to BAAs, RFIs, and RFPs.
• Guide customers through PQC transition and migration planning, including cryptographic inventory, risk prioritization, phased migration roadmaps and action plans, orchestration, implementation, and continuous monitoring.
• Assess and communicate cryptographic and key management risk
• Advise on prioritization frameworks for migration based on data sensitivity, system criticality, and crypto-agility.

Required:

• Advanced Academic Background: BS/MS in Cryptography, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, with a solid working understanding of cryptographic and PQC algorithms.
• Federal Cyber Experience: 3+ years of experience in federal cybersecurity, including direct involvement in NSA/NIST pilots.
• Cryptographic Engineering: 5+ years of experience in encryption/secure systems engineering, PKI, and key management solutions, including 2-3 years of hands-on involvement in PQC migration planning or implementation.
• PQC Knowledge: Working knowledge of NIST PQC algorithms (e.g., ML-KEM, ML-DSA) and how key material is generated, distributed, and consumed within cryptographic systems and cryptonets.
• Communication: Demonstrated ability to communicate technical cryptographic concepts to both engineering teams and executive/business audiences, and to operate effectively across customer organizational levels.
• Strategic Partnering: Proven ability to curate and manage partners for inventorying, distributed key management, software-defined cryptography, and quantum-resistant solutions.

Desired:

• Experience with distributed key management architectures and crypto-inventory tooling.
• Experience with PQC deployments or PQC implementations in constrained/tactical DoW/IC environments.
• Familiarity with AI/ML applications in cyber operations or PQC migration tooling.
• Prior experience developing roadmaps, maturity models, or migration playbooks.
• Publications, conference talks, or community contributions in PQC and applied cryptography.

Clearance

• No clearance required to apply.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for TS/SCI.
• Active security clearance is a plus.

Compensation:

• Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically between $175,000-$215,000. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
