The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly motivated Bioinformatics Scientist to join our R&D team for a 12-month post-doctoral position. This entry-level role in the R&D job family is perfect for post-doctoral candidates who are ready to apply their knowledge and skills in a practical environment. You will be expected to develop proficiency in your area of expertise and contribute to smaller, less complex projects under guidance.
This role requires a deep understanding of how to leverage single cell and spatial transcriptomics data to solve complex problems. The candidate will guide and influence technical project direction and execution strategies by leveraging mastery in next-gen transcriptomics analyses techniques and data modeling to extract biologically meaningful data from large data sets.
The Ideal Candidate Has:
- The ability to independently work project priorities, multi-task, and handle a wide variety of complex, non-routine/routine tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ownership and self-leadership skills to address business challenges.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex data and biological findings into easily understandable and actionable results to share with and influence strategy of multi-discipline teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with various forms of omics data to support a variety of projects and business needs including Single Cell data, traditional RNAseq data, and Spatial Omics data.
- Integrate Omics data with more traditional biological data, consumer data and clinical findings to answer complex biological problems.
- Test, develop and credential new omics analyses techniques.
- Provide strategic guidance to project teams, on best practices to process, utilize, analyze and leverage next gen single cell and spatial data.
- Effectively communicate scientific findings to diverse audiences, including business stakeholders, external collaborators, and participants at major scientific conferences.
- Create technical reports, publications, and presentations independently.
- Collaborate with broader teams to drive utilization of omics resources, when applicable, to amplify data usage.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in bioinformatics or related biological field with bioinformatics expertise.
- Demonstrated mastery in all aspects of data analysis for Single Cell and Spatial transcriptomics including processing, segmentation, analysis and interpretation.
- Demonstrated experience in validating, adapting and optimizing complex Single Cell and Spatial analyses/modeling techniques.
- Expertise in visualizing and analyzing big-omics data sets using software like Seurat, CellChat, Monocle 3 and SpaceXR.
- Demonstrated experience in R, databricks, and Python programming (or comparable programming languages).
- Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a solid biological background to support an integrated omics approach.
- Ability to work onsite at our Mason, OH location 3-5 days per week
Preferred:
- Skin Biology background or comparable background in other complex biological system/tissue.
- A proven track record of critical thinking and scientific achievement demonstrated through high-impact publications.
