The Post-Closing Specialist II is responsible for all aspects of the loan process after closing including receiving, shipping, insuring, and clearing investor suspense conditions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO)
- Ensures all closing packages and collateral are received, uploaded, audited, corrected, and shipped within stated Service Level Agreements (“SLAs”)
- Ensures all insurance premiums are paid, and certificates received (on applicable loans files) within stated SLAs
- Ensures applicable Conventional loans with private mortgage insurance are activated in MI portals within stated SLAs
- Ensures MERS numbers are registered and transferred within stated SLAs
- Ensures all assigned loans are purchased within stated SLAs by:
- Documenting suspense conditions in the system of record
- Working with Borrowers, Closing Agents, Branches, Underwriters, Closers, and other parties to clear suspense conditions
- Enter the Purchase Advice and clear the loan off the Warehouse Line
- Maintains daily reports, including Warehouse and Ready Reports
- Serves as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for the team, providing guidance and support on complex questions, issues, or procedures
- Acts as the first point of escalation for team concerns, resolving issues when possible prior to manager involvement
- Identifies opportunities for process improvements and contributes to the development and implementation of more efficient workflows
- Leads training efforts for new team members and provide ongoing coaching and support for existing staff as needed
- Serves as a backup to the manager during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of operations and team support
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE)
- Requires a high school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in the mortgage industry
- Some team lead experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE)
- Bachelor’s degree is desired
- 1-2 years of leadership experience
