Bitwise Asset Management is the largest crypto index fund manager in America. Thousands of financial advisors, family offices, and institutional investors partner with Bitwise to understand and access the opportunities in crypto. For seven years, Bitwise has established a track record of excellence managing a broad suite of index and active solutions across ETFs, separately managed accounts, private funds, and hedge fund strategies.

Bitwise is known for providing unparalleled client support through expert research and commentary, its nationwide client team of crypto specialists, and its deep access to the crypto ecosystem. We provide education, partnership, and professionally managed investment products tailored to this group’s needs, to help them build their view, pick their strategy, and get their exposure.

This is an incredible opportunity for someone looking to join one of the fastest-growing crypto asset managers in the world. As Portfolio Specialist, you’ll play a key role in educating institutional investors about the opportunities available in crypto, and helping them figure out how to profitably deploy crypto in portfolios. Working as part of Bitwise’s industry-leading Research team, you will work closely with and support multiple groups at Bitwise, including Sales, Portfolio Management, Investor Relations, Marketing and Product. On a day-in-day-out basis, you’ll be meeting with clients and prospects (both in-person and virtually) providing in-depth insights into Bitwise’s investment philosophy, products, process and performance, and how investors can integrate crypto into a broader portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Obsessively follow the crypto market from both a quantitative and qualitative perspective. Understand and anticipate trends and develop views on the market.
  • Partner with the Sales, Investor Relations, Research, and Marketing teams to ensure high quality engagement with prospects and clients, with the goal of increasing client acquisition and retention.
  • Develop and produce content for use with sales teams, advisors and clients, including investor presentations and written reports. Communicate investment strategies and market views.
  • Handle complex ad-hoc client requests, both quantitative and qualitative, evaluating the impact of the financial market developments on client portfolio positioning.
  • Provide client feedback and market intel to the Portfolio Management and Product  teams. Participate in product design and support new product launches.
  • Develop and implement investment strategies for clients, including advising on and constructing model portfolios.
  • Perform detailed analyses of both existing and prospective client investment portfolios and create client-specific materials and reports.
  • Create reports comparing Bitwise products with competing solutions, and determine how to best present the advantages of Bitwise products.

Role Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in financial services or investment management. Prior client-facing experience is a must, and ETF or hedge fund experience is a plus.
  • Strong fundamental research skills with expertise in financial analysis, modeling, and portfolio management. CFA required.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and accurately about complex topics.
  • Strong presentation skills in both small and larger group settings.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 50%) for client engagement.
  • Extremely detail-oriented, accurate, and love wrangling data.
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn new topics in a rapidly evolving company and space. You’re excited about being part of a small and nimble team.
  • Your style is like ours: High-energy, positive, caring, deliberate, self-aware, curious, and open-minded. You're inclined to take ownership to get the best outcome but happy to transfer or share ownership with others. You’re proactive in pursuing what you want, take pride in your ability to communicate and connect with others, and are always looking to improve.
