As portfolio manager for strategies across multi-asset, fixed income, and alternatives, the role requires innovative investment thinking and strives for investment excellence. The role has an externally facing component supporting the business through media and client engagements. You will be joining an incredible team of investors who are dedicated to delivering outstanding results for our clients. The role will also participate in squads aimed at enhancing our research and methodologies through collaboration with the equity research, manager research and the global investment team. This role is based in Sydney.
Responsibilities:
- A senior member of the investment team contributing to the outcomes of all investment strategies by consistently applying implementing our Investment Principles and the firm-wide Mission, Values and Objectives.
- Supporting the portfolio management of the Multi-Asset Real Return Fund, Multi-Asset SMAs and Real Return Funds.
- Having specific portfolio management responsibility for the Fixed Income and Alternatives building block portfolios and adopting an innovative approach to meeting risk, return and cost objectives.
- Driving innovation across the fixed income asset class with expertise in non-traditional fixed income strategies
- Driving the provision and quality of investment content and communication materials to all clients.
- Managing and mentoring less experienced members of the team.
- Working with senior members of the local and global investment team to provide an effective, collaborative and transparent environment for investment discussion and decision-making.
- Driving research and analysis to support portfolio construction, and producing investment thesis across core and opportunistic asset classes for use in multi-asset portfolios through appropriate scoping and peer review
- Collaborating to enhance our methodology and research by developing best practice frameworks for a Portfolio Construction function. Work with the other business units such as Equity Research, Manager Research and Behavioural Insights teams to improve the efficacy of our investment process.
- Promote Morningstar through speaking at industry conferences, client events, roadshows, and due diligence days.
- Where relevant, work with our sales, product, and marketing teams on new business opportunities through assisting with requests for information and prospect pitches as required.
