The Portfolio Manager III works in partnership with commercial lenders, market presidents, and leadership for the Bank’s commercial lending division. This position oversees and coordinates all aspects of a commercial loan portfolio, including underwriting, analysis, past dues, and exceptions. The Portfolio Manager III is expected to manage a portfolio of up to 200M.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in underwriting of commercial loans and preparation of loan packages.
- Ensures commercial loans comply with the Bank’s commercial lending policies.
- Assists in timely gathering of appropriate financial data, monitoring, clearing of loan covenants, and loan exceptions.
- Informs commercial lenders and senior management of financial trends within the commercial loan portfolio.
- Manages assigned client relationships within the commercial banking loan portfolio.
- Assists with monitoring of credit quality, financial analysis, loan extensions, and cross-selling of other Bank products.
- Exercises awareness regarding possible suspicious activity, money laundering or fraudulent behavior and reports any such incidents to the BSA department.
- Performs all job functions in compliance with Bank policies, federal, state, and local laws, and all regulations applicable to the position, including, but not limited to BSA/AML, OFAC and GLBA/privacy rules.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or accounting, or 3-5 years’ equivalent work experience, required.
- 7+ years’ experience in commercial lending, asset management, or commercial loan underwriting, required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Advanced knowledge of complex commercial loan structures.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking and analysis skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Jack Henry, ABRIGO, and construction management software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills Required
