Bank of Marin, voted by our employees as one of the “Best Places to Work” in the North Bay Business Journal, is seeking a Portfolio Manager II to join our Commercial Banking team.
The Portfolio Manager II is responsible for managing the underwriting, maintenance, and risk management of an assigned portfolio of commercial credits. This position partners closely with Relationship Managers to support both new and existing client relationships while independently managing the loan process from application through closing. The Portfolio Manager II works on moderate to complex commercial lending relationships and is expected to exercise sound credit judgment while delivering exceptional client service and helping identify opportunities to deepen banking relationships.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage commercial loans from application through underwriting, approval, documentation, and closing.
- Analyze borrower financial information and assist in structuring credit solutions.
- Partner with Relationship Managers, Credit Analysts, and Credit Administration to support new and existing client relationships.
- Monitor assigned loan portfolios for credit quality, covenant compliance, maturities, renewals, and exceptions.
- Prepare loan proposals, renewal requests, and related credit documentation.
- Process loan advances and draw requests in accordance with approved loan terms.
- Respond to client inquiries and provide timely, professional service.
- Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships through additional banking products and services.
- Assist with training and development of Credit Analysts as needed.
Professional / Educational Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 3 - 5 years of commercial banking, credit analysis, underwriting, or portfolio management experience.
Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, commercial credit underwriting, and loan portfolio management required. Candidates should possess excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. Experience working with commercial loan documentation, credit administration, and relationship support activities preferred.
The hiring pay range for this position is $99,487 - $139,284. In addition to the pay range listed, all bank positions are eligible for incentive compensation, which varies based on role. The pay rate for a successful applicant depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
