Job SummaryBarings is seeking an Associate / Senior Associate to join its Global Private Finance team, supporting the Portfolio Management function. This individual will work closely with Portfolio Managers and cross-functional partners (Deal Teams, Fund Finance, Legal) to monitor portfolios, support reporting, and assist with capital activity.
This role is execution-focused and offers exposure to:
• Direct lending portfolios
• Portfolio construction and performance analytics
• Cross-functional processes within a multi-strategy asset manager
- Support new/incremental deal allocations across the Global Private Finance Platform
- Support ongoing secondary trade execution activity and monitoring of investment portfolios, including tracking performance, exposures, and key risk metrics
- Attend internal meetings (IC, portfolio reviews, watchlist discussions) to support discussion of individual investments with investors
- Portfolio review material preparation and distribution
- Build and maintain financial models and forecasts for portfolio-level analysis
- Assist in the development and enhancement of portfolio reporting tools and processes, including automation initiatives
- Analyze portfolio dashboards to track performance, trends, and pipeline activity
- Prepare and help review quarterly and ad hoc portfolio reporting materials
- Help ensure portfolios remain compliant with investment guidelines and mandates
- Assist with client communications, including preparing materials for monthly/quarterly calls
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in asset management, leveraged finance, private credit, banking, or related field
- Strong Excel-based financial modeling and analytical skills; proficiency in PowerPoint and Word
- Solid understanding of credit / lending concepts and portfolio analytics preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Proactive, highly organized, and motivated to learn
