You'll be responsible for project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources.
Owns/influences budgets and operating plans for the Region assigned. The role is guided by operating policy. Works with cross functional teams. The role has autonomy within the operational area or a segment within a larger business unit. The role may have a major impact on a small business unit or Family within a Function or P&L. High levels of evaluative judgment and operational acumen are required to achieve outcomes.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Non-Turnkey Projects or Product/Equipment-Only Projects. Responsible for overseeing the project and direct or indirect leadership and/or management of project resources for small-medium sized projects (size in relation to GEV company) that may include equipment-only, suites of products or non-turnkey projects within the Portfolio assigned.
  • Understand the Performance risk ahead of time and partner with Performance engineering team to mitigate the risks.  
  • Support Functional project managers in escalation within project (across functions, with Customer, with Partner) 
  • Developing expertise in own function. May include roles that are experts in their discipline, providing professional leadership .
  • Influences policy and ensures delivery within area of responsibility, linking with other parts of the organization.
  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.
  • Early development of execution strategy with ITO Commercial Manager and ensure successful transition of the project 
  • Develops and manages the risk register with mitigation action 
  • Timely elevation of issues through Daily management
  • Leads others to find creative solutions within complex manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.
  • Employs sophisticated operational/product management, manufacturing or engineering techniques broadly.
  • Interaction with adjacent functions needed to solve issues. Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis. Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Presents business or technical discipline solutions to leaders.
  • Communicates complex messages and negotiates mainly internally with others to adopt a different point of view.
  • Influences peers to take action and may negotiate with external partners, vendors, or customers.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • Minimum 10 years Project Management and Operation experiences

Other Eligibility: May travel up to 40% of the time

Desired Characteristics

  • ​Understanding of large-scale capital project costs and estimates. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to work independently with minimal direction required. 
  • Strong people management, team building, performance management, strategic and operations planning, process management, negotiation, and relationship management skills Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Significant Project, Construction, Field Engineering and/or Contract Management experience in power industry. 
  • Experience in a customer facing role working through negotiations and solving issues 
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal.  
  • Passion and knowledge of LEAN implementation in a projects organization. 
  • PMP Certification, Project Management Leadership Program (PMLP) Graduate, or other Project Management training.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $154,800.00 and $258,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
