Accountable to the Portfolio Contract and Performance manager, the Portfolio Controls Lead will be responsible for monitoring, analysis and control of the performance of the portfolio across all High-Level Requirements in the context of the overall Performance, Cost and Time envelop. The Portfolio Controls Lead is responsible for providing the Portfolio management team and the Portfolio Council with insightful analysis of portfolio performance and forecast performance.
As part of the Portfolio Office team, the Portfolio Project Controls Lead will work with the wider team to prepare Portfolio Performance Pack and decision papers for the monthly Portfolio Council.

Key Accountabilities:
Lead on the analysis and reporting of performance against the High-Level Requirements. Work with Functions and Subject Matter Experts to assess current and forecast performance against associated Business Performance Indicators (BPIs).
Co-ordinate the production of recovery plans for any Red or Burgundy BPIs.
Lead the production of the Portfolio Performance report with appropriate analysis and narrative, with support from Portfolio Controls Lead (Delivery).
Work with the Portfolio Office teams to develop options and recommendations to the Portfolio Council on measures to enhance performance.
Substitute for Portfolio Contract &Performance Manager as required.
Manage and maintain control of financial records (budget log, ROC etc.) and SAP budget cascade.
Support with key team engagement events (such as levelling up) and presenting to key stakeholders across the business as required.

To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Be accountable for the successful delivery to cost, specification and time for a defined package of work including establishing, developing, and maintaining the documentation necessary to deliver the package of work and acting as the focal point for all aspects related to the packages of work.
- Provide information necessary to make management decisions to the key stakeholders/customer through your knowledge and experience of Project Management and project controls, including planning (ideally within Primavera P6), earned value management, resource loading, and change control.
- Ensure the implementation of company management processes is effective and efficient in addition to developing / implementing Project Management best practice in line with company management processes.
- Provision of basic guidance to others regarding the Project Management processes and the operation of the project management systems / tools / methods.
- A degree level or equivalent in business, project management, or 2-3 years equivalent business experience including APMQ qualifications is desirable in addition to experience with data analytics and management information reporting.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines, you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
