Portfolio Associate Team Overview
Portfolio Associate team members directly support Portfolio Managers and build relationships internally with Account Managers, Product Managers, Legal and Compliance counterparts, Operations teams, and other Portfolio Associate teams across the firm’s global offices. On a day-to-day basis, Portfolio Associates actively monitor portfolios to assist Portfolio Managers in rebalancing risks and providing operational support where necessary. Portfolio Associates are routinely encouraged to provide creative solutions and develop key tools and reporting methods to support the Portfolio Management team.

Responsibilities
- Support Equities, Emerging Markets (EM), and Hedge Fund portfolios and trading strategies across a range of cash and derivative instruments.
- Utilize proprietary risk and analytics systems to monitor portfolio exposures, risks, and performance.
- Understand the full trade lifecycle and proactively identify, escalate, and resolve operational issues.
- Ensure portfolio positioning is aligned with investment objectives and client mandates.
- Monitor portfolio positions and products against client guidelines in partnership with Compliance.
- Coordinate with Portfolio Management on portfolio rebalancing and implementation activities.
- Assist with account transitions, cash flow management, and portfolio funding requirements.
- Conduct performance, attribution, and portfolio risk analyses.
- Tag and classify trades within portfolio risk frameworks.
- Leverage data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve operational efficiency, reporting, and decision-making processes.
- Support ad hoc portfolio, trading, and operational initiatives as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong academic background in a technical field from a leading, accredited college or university
- Good understanding of fixed income, equities and FX workflows including knowledge of most cash and derivative instruments
- Experience supporting Equities, EM, or multi-asset investment strategies preferred.
- Shift rotation schedules required to cover early mornings and holiday periods per Equity and FX market requirements
- Outstanding communication skills are required to operate in a complex financial environment
- Excel “power user” ; programming skills in Python, VBA, SQL, or similar languages preferred.
- Experience leveraging data visualization, automation, and AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, machine learning applications, or workflow automation tools) to improve productivity and business outcomes is a plus.
- Strong process-oriented background and ability to demonstrate keen portfolio risk and operational awareness
- Outstanding analytical skills with a proven ability to function efficiently and problem-solve in a fast paced and time-critical environment
- Good understanding of Portfolio Risks and Macro Investment Models
- Ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree plus minimum 3 years of work experience
