This role is a unique opportunity to shape and expand our presence in Romania at a pivotal moment of growth. As a Portfolio and Business Development Manager you will drive growth and shape the commercial strategy across our business. This role combines portfolio strategy, market insight, and commercial execution, with a strong focus on finding opportunities and delivering business impact.
You will work across a diverse portfolio including advanced surgery, nutrition, and oncology-related products. You will engage with internal teams and external partners such as distributors, buying organizations, and the country's healthcare network.
What you will be doing:- Improve market opportunities through commercial planning and execution, developing new services for key customers and sales areas.
- Analyze customer needs, market trends, and potential partnerships from a return on investment and build‑vs‑buy perspective.
- Evaluate new product ideas, analyze product requirements and market data, and develop appropriate programs and go‑to‑market strategies.
- Drive successful end‑to‑end product lifecycle activities, including market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap development, and product launches.
- Develop product effective positioning and messaging and support multi‑source sales strategies and omnichannel campaigns.
- Expand hospital sales by building solid connections with key customers, distributors buying organizations and National Healthcare System.
- Conduct regular business reviews with assigned buying organizations, covering sales volumes, compliance, and competitive conditions.
- Provide structured market intelligence and customer insights to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with the Country Managing Director, Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service and distributors to ensure execution excellence.
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Science, Commercial, Medical, or a related field along with proven experience in Pharmaceutical or Medical Devices business in Sales or Portfolio roles.
- Strong understanding of the hospital and institutional local market, including distributors, tender processes and buying organizations.
- Knowledge of the Romanian healthcare system, including market access and pricing
- Ability to analyze market data, customer needs, and competitor landscapes.
- Strong project management and influencing skills
- Strategic thinker with hands‑on execution focus.
- Strong communication skills in English and local language.
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The minimum salary for this position is 264 000,00 RON gross Annual. Your initial pay could be at the minimum or higher based on skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors, all of which are subject to change. This position may also be eligible for competitive benefits, discretionary bonuses, and/or long-term incentive.
