Description

The Portfolio Analyst ensures clients’ portfolios are invested in accordance with the stated goals, conducts annual investment reviews, and partners with the other functional areas of the company to formulate a total investment solution designed to meet institutional and individual client needs.

Principal Accountabilities:   

1. Interacts with Financial Advisors, Planners, Investment Department, Investment Operations Department, and clients to ensure client portfolios are invested appropriately.

2. Reviews clients’ investment accounts to verify:

  • Account objectives are current and appropriate.
  • Investments are consistent with objectives.
  • Account is properly diversified.

3. Conducts investment and administrative reviews on high volume of accounts in accordance with Regulation 9.

4. Reviews and approves Department of Labor disclosures sent to clients rolling over their retirement assets.

5. Partners with other functional teams to formulate total investment solutions designed to meet clients’ financial goals.

6. Reviews all red flags within client accounts and escalates unresolved red flags.

7. Ensures performance reports are accurate and complete.

8. Ensures custody and trust accounting systems are up to date and accurate.

9. Approaches work, interactions, and relationships in a manner consistent with the Company’s Core Values.

10. Builds and maintains strong working relationship with Investment Operations team.

11. Consistently adheres to Company compliance policies and procedures and attends to daily Compliance matters as required by law and mandated in Company Compliance Policy Manual.

12. Maintains the highest Compliance standards by adhering to the company's Human Resources guidelines, Compliance policies and procedures, professional designation standards, and industry's regulatory standards to mitigate risk to the company.

13. Understands and supports the financial planning philosophy and biblical basis upon which Blue Trust serves its client base.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the investment landscape
  • Basic theoretical and practical understanding of Company investment philosophy 
  • In-depth knowledge of trust accounting platform 
  • Keen attention to detail 
  • Ability to discreetly handle confidential data
  • Ability to make independent judgments as well as take direction from others
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to organize and express thoughts clearly and concisely 
  • Proactive planning and responsiveness to urgent needs
  • Aptitude for, and enjoyment of, serving others with excellence
  • Strong organization skills and systems acumen
  • Aptitude and passion for learning new things quickly with a strong work ethic in an ever-changing environment
  • Excellent computer skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Display of integrity and professional behavior consistent with Company values and mission

Education, Experience & Skills:  

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Experience in a related professional environment is preferred

Certifications:

  • Possession or pursuit of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred.
