Primary Duties
Be the expert on policy knowledge at the market-level, particularly for issues pertaining to primary care sustainability, serving as an internal resource for market teams and beyond. Fully understand unique landscapes, payer relations, physician engagement (including leading regular virtual and potentially in-person events), stakeholder dynamics, and more. Collaborate on inter-team projects including work with Partnerships, Growth, Clinical, Communications, etc.
Coordinate with external stakeholders (eg. state-level associations, government agencies, payers) to align shared priorities and collaboratively shape the primary care landscape and associated advocacy strategies for legislative change in each state.
Create and execute a suite of state-specific products on a regular basis including presentations, advocacy campaigns, co-developing webinars and associated written pieces, shaping legislative workgroups and development, etc. Expected to lead certain areas of expertise to inform the Policy Institute’s stance and related outcomes.
Assist with broader team efforts that have both federal and state implications (eg. RHTP, annual PFS, fielding Flex requests).
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of relevant work experience is required; a Master's in a relevant field can serve as a substitute for some work experience.
Bachelor’s degree in public policy, public health, business, or other relevant field is required.
Required to register as a lobbyist in one or more states within portfolio.
Some general knowledge of the legislative process at federal and state levels with keen interest and curiosity about primary care and/or value-based care.
Ability to travel to each of assigned five markets 1-2 times annually, as well as 3-5 team-related events and conferences.
Preferred knowledge, skills, and/or abilities
Experience in VBC and/or primary care advocacy
Experience working within grassroots organizations and/or campaigns
Strong communication, verbal and written
Strong team player attitude
Detail-oriented
