As a Policy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the establishment of policies for the agency. You will be responsible for conducting thorough research to ensure that all necessary details are included in policy drafts. Your strong written and research skills will be essential in developing, revising, and finalizing policies. Additionally, your ability to self-manage and work independently will be key to your success in this role. This position requires the Policy Assistant to be onsite in Washington, D.C. once per week.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Your primary responsibility as a Policy Assistant will be to ensure that agency's policies are well-researched, clear, and compliant with relevant regulations. You will collaborate with various departments to gather information and provide insights into policy development. Key tasks include:

  • Conducting research to ensure policy drafts are comprehensive and include all required details.
  • Assisting in the development and revision of policies to align with organizational goals.
  • Monitoring legislation developments that may impact agency policies.
  • Advising on sustainable management policies and efficiency improvements.
  • Integrating strategic foundations into daily performance by applying policies effectively.
  • Collaborating with team members to set and refine organizational policies.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

To succeed in this role, you will need to have strong written and research skills, along with the ability to manage your workload independently. Additionally, the following skills and knowledge are essential:

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft clear and concise policies.
  • Excellent research skills to gather relevant information and ensure policy accuracy.

  • Experience in monitoring company policies and advising on efficiency improvements.
