DIS-TRAN Steel is seeking a Project Management Office Manager to lead our project and proposal support teams while driving consistency, accountability, and process improvement across the organization.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on organization, planning, and building efficient systems. You'll work closely with estimating, engineering, detailing, procurement, production, sales, and customers to ensure projects move smoothly from proposal through production.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the Team
- Manage and develop project and proposal support personnel.
- Set clear expectations and drive accountability.

- Oversee project coordination, schedules, documentation, and customer communications.
- Ensure accurate and timely handoffs between departments.
- Monitor project progress and help resolve issues before they impact delivery. Improve Processes
- Standardize workflows and improve efficiency.
- Develop tools, reports, and processes that increase visibility and consistency.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance and customer satisfaction. Support Customers
- Ensure customers receive accurate information and timely updates.
- Build strong working relationships through dependable execution and communication.

Requirements for PMO manager:
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, industrial engineering technology, construction management, operations management, or a related field preferred; equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered.
· Previous experience in project coordination, project management, proposal coordination, estimating support, operations support, customer service, or a related function required.
· Prior supervisory, team lead, or people leadership experience required.
· Strong understanding of project coordination, proposal workflows, customer communication, documentation control, scheduling, and deadline management.
· Strong organizational, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, customers, projects, proposals, and team members in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to read, understand, or work with fabrication drawings preferred.
· Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook required.
· Ability to learn and effectively use ERP, MRP, proposal tracking, and project management systems.
· Regular, reliable attendance is required.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in the steel fabrication industry preferred.
· ERP System experience preferred.
· Prior experience with RFQs, RFPs, proposals, bid forms, purchase orders, change orders, RFIs, and customer submittals preferred.
· Experience supporting engineering, detailing, BOM, plant operations, estimating, procurement, or production teams preferred.
· Experience creating reports, tracking departmental metrics, and improving administrative or project-related workflows preferred.
· Experience managing customer-facing teams in a technical, manufacturing, construction, or fabrication environment preferred.
