The Role
Install, fabricate, maintain, and repair plumbing and pipefitting systems in a transmission plant. Read blueprints and layouts, work with pneumatic, fluid, and steam systems, perform mechanical gas arc and plasma cutting, install and repair valves, and conduct lifting and rigging. The role requires working at heights, using ladders and platforms, handling tools, following safety procedures, working assigned and changing shifts, and meeting physical demands including lifting, bending, and extended standing.

Rate of Pay and Benefits:

Plumber Pipefitters are paid a top hourly base rate of $44.765, plus applicable shift, overtime, and holiday premiums.  The starting rate for this position is $44.565 with pay increases to the top rate upon completion of three consecutive months of employment.

Responsibilities

Willingness and ability to work on an assigned schedule, change shifts periodically, work more than 8 hours per day and/or work overtime, while maintaining good attendance.  Ability and willingness to learn and follow safety rules and procedures.

Ability to learn, remember, and maintain pace of steps involved in performing a job after instruction, training, and familiarization with the tasks.  Ability and willingness to understand and follow instructions, both oral or in writing. 

Ability and willingness to work in a team environment, including helping co-workers, maintaining and promoting a safe work environment, treating co-workers with dignity and respect regardless of personal differences, and accepting and following instructions and requests from leadership.

Ability to perform tasks of the trade, stand for extended periods, walk unassisted, work at heights, work overhead including on ladders and platforms and manipulate tools typical of the trade. Tasks will require a certain amount of reaching, lifting, twisting, bending, and use of a PMHV or hilo. Ability to perceive differences in details and prints related to trade.  Must be able to effectively maneuver about vehicles, equipment, assembly lines or stations, and about facility. 

Qualifications

Successful completion of a job interview, pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check are required.  Drug panel does not include THC.
