What you’ll be doing:

  • Review and assess community-created Lua plugins to ensure they meet technical, quality, and gameplay standards.
  • Identify and prevent malicious code, data harvesting, or unauthorised gameplay interactions (e.g. botting).
  • Provide structured, constructive feedback on code quality, design, and implementation to external developers.
  • Work closely with community teams, designers, and engineers to define requirements and shape plugin functionality.
  • Maintain and evolve community guidelines and documentation to support consistent development practices.
  • Support maintenance of internal tools, systems, and workflows related to plugin review and integration.
  • Track and manage tasks using established production processes, contributing to delivery across multiple initiatives.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working with Lua and a solid foundation in programming.
  • Strong understanding of code quality, debugging, and performance considerations.
  • Ability to read and analyse code to identify risks or malicious intent.
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git or Perforce.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and constructive feedback to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable working independently with a high level of ownership.

Nice to have:

  • Experience reviewing or maintaining third-party or community-created code.
  • Understanding of plugin/modding ecosystems within games.
  • Experience building or maintaining plugins in a games environment.
  • Familiarity with RuneScape or similar titles.

What we offer:

When you join Jagex you can look forward to a generous Perks & Benefits package including:

  • Private Healthcare, including Dental Plan.
  • Discretionary annual performance bonus.
  • Minimum 6% Pension contributions.
  • Life Insurance.
  • Enhanced family leave policies from day 1.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • 25 days annual leave + Bank holidays & the option to buy/sell holidays + so much more!
