Starting Pay:  Base pay for this position will start at $50/hour.  People with significant experience may come in at a higher level. 
 

Overtime:  This position is eligible for Overtime and shift differential pay. 
 

Healthcare:  Stimson pays 80% of the premiums for healthcare coverage for full-time employees, including medical, dental and vision.


401(k):  Stimson provides a 100% match on the first 6% of your pay when you contribute to your 401(k)-retirement account.


Profit Sharing:  Contributions are deposited annually into your 401(k) account for Profit Sharing, up to 3% of your pay.


Bonus:  This position is bonus eligible and will receive a discretionary bonus in years when the company and location are profitable.


Paid Time-Off:  Position offers 9 paid holidays and 2 weeks of paid vacation.  Paid sick leave is available up to 3 days per year.


Employee Referral program:  Earn a $2500 minimum bonus for a successful referral

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for safely installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, components, and production equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role supports production by ensuring equipment reliability, optimizing system performance, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. Weekend and occasional holiday work may be required.

This position requires a strong commitment to safety, the ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex machinery and process issues, and the ability to work collaboratively with maintenance, production, and management teams.

  • Perform all aspects of industrial electrical maintenance, including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and system improvements
  • Program, modify, and maintain PLC systems (Allen Bradley PLC5, SLC500, ControlLogix), including communications, setup, upgrades, and logic changes
  • Install and maintain automation and control systems, instrumentation, and variable frequency drives
  • Read, interpret, and troubleshoot electrical schematics; design and modify electrical systems as needed
  • Diagnose and resolve complex equipment and process issues in a high-production environment
  • Support production operations, including assisting with material flow related to production equipment
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement efforts to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects with a high level of attention to detail and urgency
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external electrical vendors

 Required Qualifications
  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician
  • Minimum of five (5) years of electrical maintenance experience in an industrial or wood products manufacturing environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex equipment issues
  • Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Basic mechanical and welding skills
  • Proficient computer skills; experience with preventive maintenance software preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • High school diploma or GED
 Preferred / Additional Skills
  • Experience with Temposonic linear positioners and RMC motion controllers
  • Experience designing electrical systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
 Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and perform repetitive work for extended periods (up to 10 hours)
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing stairs, and reaching
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments year-round, including exposure to noise, airborne particles (sawdust), and moving mechanical equipment
