What We're Looking For:

Are you a seasoned leader in cloud platforms and engineering space, with some battle scars to prove it? We’re looking for a Platforms Engineering Manager to join us and lead our Cloud Platform, Customer Integration, and Data Platform & Insights teams. This role is critical in fulfilling our strategic direction by allowing us to grow our internal capability while maintaining a focus on quality and constant improvement.

About the Role:

As EROAD expands globally, we are seeking a Platforms Engineering Manager who will focus on cross-team collaboration, platform reliability, and delivering initiatives aligned with business needs and customer expectations. You will build and maintain high-performing teams that ensure EROAD's SaaS platforms operate efficiently, maintain reliability targets, and continuously improve to meet evolving requirements.

You will work closely with and support the Director of Engineering for Platforms to deliver modern, scalable and fit for purpose internal and external facing platforms as well as support EROAD’s developers through modern tooling, practises and platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Provide people leadership with direct reporting lines to chapter leads, build high-performing teams, and support their growth and development.
• Initiative Planning and Delivery: Own, execute and contribute to the company's cloud delivery framework, ensure cross-team resource allocation, and drive delivery accountability.
• Design and Development: Ensure best practice design and implementation for maintainable, scalable, and reliable solutions which empower our development teams to work autonomously in repeatable and well defined ways.
• Quality and Continuous Improvement: Foster a quality-first culture and continuously improve EROAD’s engineering practices and delivery frameworks. Ownership and balancing of modernisation efforts with your peers will form a critical part of this role.
• Research and Innovation: Cultivate innovation through a mindset of curiosity and stay abreast of modern technologies, trends, and best practices.

Skills and Experience:

• 3+ years’ experience leading teams within the technology sector.
• 8+ years’ practical experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, SRE, or a similar function.
• Technical proficiency in hyperscale Cloud Platforms (Azure/AWS).
• Experience with large scale or high transaction rate solutions, ideally in a SaaS provider context.
• Experience supporting internal developer productivity through platforms, tooling and processes.
• Experience owning a piece of work and taking it through to a quality completion.
