Position Summary:
The Platform Operations Associate supports operational workflows that help improve payer-related processes, reporting, and issue resolution. This hybrid role is based in Belfast, ME and requires strong analytical and communication skills to support day-to-day work across teams. In this role, you will use SQL, Excel, and data platforms to help investigate issues, maintain operational accuracy, and support business partners. This position reports to the Platform Operations Manager.
Team Summary:
The Platform Operations Data Analysis team supports clients and internal partners with reporting, analytics, and operational deliverables tied to product performance and real-world platform operations. The team works at the intersection of data, product support, reporting engineering, and platform operations workflows, using intake tracking, SQL, reporting tools, and code repositories to deliver accurate, timely outcomes. You will partner with teams across operations, implementation, support, and product to address reporting needs and operational issues.
This team also helps maintain consistency across multiple workflows, supports root-cause review of operational issues, and contributes to process improvements that improve reliability, visibility, and timeliness. Team members work closely with stakeholders to track requests, validate data, document findings, and help ensure operational issues are resolved with clear follow-through.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Analyze operational data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
Use SQL to query data, validate results, and support operational reporting needs.
Partner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify issues, and communicate updates on work in progress.
Monitor payer-related operational workflows and escalate issues when follow-up or cross-functional support is needed.
Support data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks across operational reporting and system outputs.
Maintain and update tracking documentation, issue logs, and operational records with accuracy and timeliness.
Use Excel to organize, review, and summarize data for reporting and analysis.
Collaborate with teams using Jira to track work, manage requests, and monitor progress on operational items.
Apply AI tools such as Claude and Codex, when available, to support drafting, analysis, summarization, and workflow efficiency while reviewing outputs for accuracy and context.
Participate in recurring reviews and meetings to help coordinate priorities, surface blockers, and support timely resolution of operational work.

Support ad hoc reporting requests from internal partners.
Assist with documentation updates for operational processes and workflows.
Help prepare meeting materials, summaries, and follow-up notes.
Contribute to process standardization efforts across payer operations.
Support testing or validation of data-related changes when needed.
Help maintain consistency in operational tracking and reporting practices.
Participate in team discussions focused on improving efficiency and clarity.
Assist with special projects related to platform operations or payer workflows.
Expected Education & Experience:
1 to 3 years of experience in operations, analytics, reporting, or a related field.
Experience working with SQL to extract, validate, and analyze data.
Experience using Microsoft Excel for analysis, tracking, and reporting.
Familiarity with stakeholder communication in a cross-functional environment.
Experience working with ticketing or project tracking tools such as Jira preferred.
Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake preferred.
Exposure to AI tools such as Claude and Codex preferred.
Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly and apply them in day-to-day work.
Strong attention to data accuracy, follow-through, and documentation quality.

Expected Compensation
$50,000 - $86,000The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
