Salary: Sheffield up to £90,000/London £112,500

THE ROLE
You will provide strategic leadership for the Bank’s platform and infrastructure estate, accountable for the value, performance, security and resilience of a hybrid environment spanning cloud and on-premises platforms. You will oversee technical and security engineering, the Cloud Centre of Excellence, infrastructure and enterprise application support, the IT Service Desk, and IT product ownership. You will ensure services are designed, delivered and operated to meet organisational needs across all lines of support, from first line teams through to specialist technical subject matter experts.
You will define and deliver platform and infrastructure strategy and target architecture aligned to organisational objectives and technology roadmaps. You will provide architectural oversight of hybrid environments ensuring scalability, security, resilience and cost efficiency. You will lead secure infrastructure design, implementation and operation, including identity and access management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance with security and regulatory standards. You will drive operational excellence across platforms and enterprise applications, including incident and problem management, service restoration, capacity planning, performance optimisation and continual improvement through automation, observability and site reliability engineering practices.
You will act as Product Owner for key platforms and services, defining roadmaps, prioritising enhancements and ensuring delivery of the Platforms book of work with appropriate governance and service acceptance. You will manage change under technical governance, oversee disaster recovery strategy and testing, support audit and regulatory engagement, lead supplier performance management and contract governance, and manage operational and project budgets to optimise cost.
You will bring senior leadership experience across platform engineering and operations in regulated environments, developing multidisciplinary teams and fostering collaboration, transparency and continuous improvement. You will work with stakeholders across the organisation and demonstrate inclusive leadership, customer focus, accountability for outcomes, and commitment to ethical and professional standards.
