THE ROLE
We are seeking a Mid-Level Platform Engineer to help us continue driving innovation and making an impact on the reliability, performance, and scalability of Farfetch's industry-leading technology. You must have a DevOps mindset and be passionate about automation, scalability, and infrastructure reliability. In this role, you will be co-responsible for the maintenance of several technologies that are crucial to the success of FARFETCH’s business.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Design, develop, implement, and manage cloud-native infrastructure and tooling that empowers our development teams.
Contribute to building self-service capabilities, abstracting complex infrastructure layers, and promoting engineering autonomy.
Operate and maintain a wide range of infrastructure components, including Linux and Kubernetes-based systems, using automated processes and pipelines.
Contribute to our culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for increased scalability, cost efficiency, and reliability.
Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to understand their needs and provide solutions that accelerate their productivity.
WHO YOU ARE
Graduated or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or have equivalent practical experience.
A strong interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
Ability to develop using programming languages such as Python or Golang.
Familiar with the principles of the software development lifecycle and the concepts of infrastructure-as-code.
Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and comfortable working with related tools/technologies (e.g. Jenkins, Git, ArgoCD).
Hands-on experience with containerized environments and container orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
A strong interest in one or more of the following domains:
Cloud Infrastructure: Provisioning and Configuration Management (e.g., Azure, Terraform, Saltstack)
Networking: Traffic Management, Load Balancing, CDN, and DNS (e.g., HAProxy, Kong, CloudFlare, Firewall)
Software Development Lifecycle: Automating builds, tests, and deployments (e.g., Jenkins, ArgoCD, Artifactory)
Have a security-first mindset and an interest in compliance achievement.
Proactive, creative, and a great team player.
Good written and verbal English communication skills.
