Platform Engineer

As our operations are expanding, we are looking for a talented Platform Engineer to support us in the design, development and maintenance of our cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure. You will take ownership and coordinate infrastructure-related projects for our SynaptiQ and R&D department application platforms.

You will join 3E’s infrastructure team, working in close collaboration with the Site Reliability Engineering, Development, and Information Security teams, reporting to the Information Security Teamlead.

As a Platform Engineer, you are the go-to person for all infrastructure changes:

Technical

• You assist with the planning and execution of infrastructure changes
• You implement and maintain infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines
• You ensure infrastructure security, compliance, and best practices are followed
• You’re a key player in the Incident Management Process

Advisory

• You provide technical guidance and mentorship to teams on infrastructure matters
• You document infrastructure architecture, processes, and runbooks for the team

Strategic

• You evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve infrastructure reliability
• You monitor, maintain, and optimize infrastructure performance, security, and reliability

3E is looking for a battle-hardened Platform Engineer capable of assessing the risks related to infrastructure changes and having experience in implementing mitigating controls. You follow DevOps best practices when building infrastructure projects in Terraform and Docker. You’re a team player and support teammate in their daily operations of 3E's production environments.

Our ideal candidate:

• Is fluent in English, the main language in our company
• Is based in Belgium (or can relocate to Belgium easily, within a short timeframe)

• Has 3 years of relevant professional experience in a similar position
• Has experience with Linux administration and immutable OS
• Has experience working with Docker and Kubernetes
• Is experimented in networking, performance troubleshooting (e.g. tcpdump, strace, ss)
• Has experience with configuring IPSec VPN tunnels
• Has experience with AWS or other relevant cloud provider
• Experience in designing/operating scalable infrastructure
• Is a team player with good communication skills
• Comes with strong analytical skills
• Is security minded

Bonus points for:

• Experience working on internal applications platform and programming

• Experience working in an ISO27001 certified workplace
