The Role
Nordic’s Platform Engineer supports design, build, testing, administering and troubleshooting for BI, Analytics and AI on-prem and cloud platforms for Nordic Clients. This position works under the direction of senior platform architects and engineers to address documented client needs while actively seeking opportunities to make platforms more cost effective while performing optimally and resiliently through automation and proactive monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
Performs duties and responsibilities corresponding with assigned functions within the department which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following tasks:
- Performing expert-level design, build, testing, administering, monitoring and troubleshooting of BI, Analytics and AI platforms
- Assist the Digital Health Leadership team with solution design and technical architecture for BI, Analytics and AI platforms
- Fulfilling platforms requests from clients by performing issue analysis within their applications and across other integrated applications and systems, translating needs into detailed requirement specifications, performing platforms build, deployment and testing, and creating detailed product documentation
- Work with leadership to develop detailed requirement specifications including estimated work effort
- Managing assigned tasks related to the design, build, and testing of automation, maintaining a high standard of service for all customer requests
- Providing updates for and participating as needed in daily, weekly and monthly status calls with customers, including updates on the helpdesk/ServiceNow ticketing system function, requests processed, and issues solved
- Document and communicate technical issues and translate technical issues into step-by-step resolutions for customer counterparts and internal Nordic team members
- Participating in upgrades and performing testing as needed
- Continuously improving process and internal support documents
- Assisting in the improvement of workflows and processes
- Mentoring junior team members and being a knowledge lead for team members
- Participating in continuous learning opportunities to grow solution expertise
- Maximizing team productivity and operational metrics
- Coordinating and forecasting work while planning accordingly
- Effectively engages in agile practices (e.g., stand-ups, planning - work breakdown, retros - continuous improvements, demos).
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- 5+ years related business and/industry experience
- 3+ years related experience in building and deploying BI, Analytics and AI on-prem and cloud platforms required
- Certification or experience with Azure Databricks, PowerBI, Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, SSAS), Azure/AWS Platform Engineering and Azure DevOps required
- Azure Databricks and Azure/AWS Platform certification preferred
- Demonstrated ability to seek out, analyze, and solve novel problems
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to organize
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Experience working in an Agile model
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Must demonstrate and embody the Nordic maxims
Additional Details
- Position will be remote, anywhere in USA
- Working hours in Eastern Time zone (EDT)
- Occasional travel up to 5% of the time
