Retail Technology is responsible for the world-leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank and Bankwest Retail – from product platforms for our customers, to essential tools within our business. We also use technology to drive efficient and timely processing.

Within Retail Technology you’ll be joining our Quality Engineering Centre of Excellence team, where you’ll be contributing to platforms that allow our engineers to deliver faster with high quality. You will use your automation skills to codify more into our build and release pipelines, while also supporting the tools for infrastructure and environments management.
As a Platform Engineer, you’ll work collaboratively with other engineers to help bring more automation into their day-to-day work. You will help to make our platforms loved by our engineers! We are keen hear from platform engineers who are passionate about infrastructure as code and software eating the world!
We’re interested in hearing from people who:

Have hands on experience with CI/CD pipelines
-
Potentially worked with engineering teams delivering digital experiences
-
Worked in a distributed agile environment
-
Appreciation for the full cycle engineering ecosystem with a true passion for automating work to be done throughout the software lifecycle

Have a natural drive to challenge the status quo and apply new thinking to problems
Tech Skills
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

At least 1 year experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity or GitHub Actions

Experience with writing automation scripts, using languages such as Python, PowerShell or Go, to implement controls and tasks for building and releasing software continuously

Exposure to test automation frameworks

Hands on experience with cloud platforms (we use both Azure and AWS)

Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
-
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
