Platform Engineer

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing the tools, processes, and infrastructure that enable continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and automated testing. The Platform Engineer will collaborate with development, operations, and quality assurance teams to enhance and optimize our software delivery pipeline and infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
• Design, implement, and manage infrastructure using Terraform.

Connectivity Solutions:
• Implement and manage  connectivity solutions such us VPNs, Direct Connect, and AWS Site-to-Site VPN.

AWS Networking:
• Design, implement, and manage AWS networking solutions, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of the infrastructure.
       • Configure and troubleshoot Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), subnets, route tables, and security groups to optimize network traffic flow.

Patching and Updates:
 • Develop and execute patching strategies for operating systems running on AWS infrastructure.
• Implement automated patching processes to ensure timely and secure updates across the environment.

Automation:
• Automate routine operational tasks and processes to improve efficiency.
• Implement and manage configuration management tools (Ansible).
            
Containerization:
• Build and maintain containerized environments using Kubernetes.

Monitoring and Logging:
• Implement and manage monitoring solutions for applications and infrastructure.
• Configure and maintain centralized logging systems.

Collaboration:
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify areas for process improvement.

Security:
• Implement and enforce security best practices for infrastructure and code.
• Collaborate with the security team to address vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.

Documentation:
• Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for infrastructure and deployment processes.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role for at least 6 years.
• Extensive proficiency in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools.
• Extensive proficiency in containerization and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform)
• Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (Ansible).
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and cloud services.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
