We are seeking an experienced AWS Platform Engineer with strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable AWS environments while ensuring high availability, security, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available AWS-based platform infrastructure.
- Manage containerized applications running on Amazon ECS (EC2 and/or Fargate).
- Troubleshoot production incidents involving application performance, latency, availability, and infrastructure failures.
- Monitor and optimize ECS clusters, Auto Scaling Groups, load balancers, and cloud resources.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent).
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and releases.
- Configure and manage observability platforms including logging, monitoring, alerting, and dashboards.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Collaborate with development teams to improve application reliability, scalability, and deployment practices.
- Implement cloud security, governance, and operational best practices.
- Drive platform automation and reduce manual operational activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or SRE.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including:
- ECS
- EC2
- ALB/NLB
- CloudWatch
- Auto Scaling
- IAM
- VPC Networking
- Experience managing containerized applications using Docker and ECS/Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of application performance troubleshooting, memory management, and resource optimization.
- Experience investigating production incidents involving:
- High latency
- 5xx errors
- Application crashes
- Memory leaks
- Capacity constraints
- Expertise with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, Splunk, Prometheus, or ELK.
Desired Experience
- Experience with production troubleshooting of ECS workloads and container lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of OOM (Out of Memory) analysis, application tuning, and JVM/Container resource optimization.
- Experience with Blue/Green and Canary deployment strategies.
- Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
- Experience implementing autoscaling strategies using CPU, memory, and application-level metrics.
- Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
