JOB TITLE: Platform Engineer
RESPONSIBLE TO: Cloud Solutions Architect
MAIN LOCATION: Jordan, Amman
Objective
We are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer to design, manage, and scale our Azure cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will be the bridge between our infrastructure and development teams. You will directly help application teams streamline their deployment pipelines, manage our Kubernetes environment, and ensure optimal resource utilization, security, code quality, and uptime across our cloud ecosystem.

Main Responsibilities:
- Application Support: Partner with application teams to design, build, and optimize automated CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Security & Compliance Collaboration: Work closely with Cyber Security and Architecture teams to ensure platform security standards are maintained.
- Vulnerability & Audit Management: Support vulnerability management, compliance audits, and security remediation activities.
- DevSecOps Integration: Embed, configure, and maintain automated security scanning tools and quality gates within pipelines to enforce continuous security compliance.
- Code Quality Management: Manage automated static code analysis using SonarQube and handle pipeline-integrated vulnerability tracking.
- Cloud & Kubernetes Management: Provision, configure, and maintain Azure native services and enterprise-grade Kubernetes clusters.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain scalable infrastructure templates using Terraform and Helm.
- Traffic & Networking Management: Configure and optimize cloud routing, load balancing, and application delivery networks.
- Observability: Monitor infrastructure health, application performance, and security events using centralized logging solutions.
Essential Skills:
Education & Core Experience
- Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Cloud Expertise: Strong hands-on experience exclusively with the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
CI/CD, Automation & DevSecOps
- DevOps Platforms: Proven experience with CI/CD platforms like Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
- Security Scanning Tools: Hands-on experience integrating and managing automated security tools within the pipeline, including SAST, DAST, and Software Composition Analysis (SCA) tools.
- Code Quality: Strong experience setting up quality gates and metrics using SonarQube.
- DevSecOps Culture: Good understanding of Cyber Security, Information Security, and shift-left security methodologies.
Containerization & Cloud Services
- Kubernetes: Deep hands-on experience managing and scaling Kubernetes clusters.
- Messaging & Event-Driven Architecture: Strong experience managing message brokers, specifically RabbitMQ, alongside Azure Service Bus and Azure Event Grid.
- Azure Native Services: Serverless computing (Azure Functions), caching (Azure Redis Cache), and cloud database management.
Infrastructure & Networking
- Infrastructure Tools: Hands-on experience with Terraform, Helm, or similar tools.
- Traffic Routing: Solid knowledge of Azure Front Door and Application Gateway.
- Networking: Strong grasp of basic cloud networking concepts (VNs, subnets, peering, firewalls).
- Log Solutions: Experience with Elastic Cloud or comparable centralized logging and monitoring solutions.
Soft Skills & Methodologies
- SDLC: Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
- Problem-Solving: Exceptional troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
Preferred Certifications ( not mandatory):
- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
Skills Required

- Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
- Microsoft, Kubernetes, or HashiCorp certifications (AZ-400, AZ-500, AZ-305, CKA/CKAD, Terraform Associate)
