As a Platform Engineer AWS, you will be part of our Cloud Squad, working closely with squads across the organisation to enable and support AWS initiatives. You will play a key role in accelerating public cloud adoption by designing and operating secure, scalable, and compliant cloud platforms.
This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting cloud initiatives using modern technologies, with a strong focus on automation, infrastructure as code, and continuous improvement. You will have the autonomy to innovate, simplify infrastructure, and uplift cloud capability while maintaining high standards of security, compliance, and design.
Ko tō mahi | What you’ll do
In this role, you will:
Design, build, and maintain automated cloud solutions to streamline operations.
Operate and support AWS cloud services, ensuring reliability, performance, and availability.
Partner with delivery squads to support the deployment of cloud workloads.
Develop and maintain cloud patterns to accelerate safe and consistent cloud adoption.
Maintain and enhance the cloud control framework to meet compliance and security standards.
Monitor and optimise cloud environments to improve performance and manage costs.
Act as a trusted first point of contact for internal customers supporting cloud platforms.
Support BAU cloud operations and ongoing AWS compliance configuration and monitoring.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Minimum three years of hands-on experience in platform or cloud engineering.
Strong understanding of CI CD practices, including tools such as Jenkins and version control systems.
Experience with infrastructure as code, particularly Terraform and CloudFormation.
Experience with scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
Hands on experience with Docker and Linux based systems.
Good understanding of AWS core services, landing zones, and hybrid networking, including Transit Gateway and Direct Connect.
Experience with observability and monitoring tools.
AWS certification such as SysOps Administrator or Associate Solutions Architect.
It would be beneficial if you also bring experience with AWS related certifications, Chef, Groovy, Jira, Confluence, or SharePoint.
You will be collaborative, curious, and customer focused, with strong problem solving skills and a passion for learning, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
