The Platform DevOps Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and processes required for integration and delivery of cloud-based applications. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud platforms, automation tools, DevOps methodologies to ensure efficient and reliable deployments, Confluent Platform (Kafka) and DataStax Enterprise (DSE).

The Platform DevOps Engineer will report to the Pioneer Platform Product Owner.

He/she will collaborate with other Pioneer products, regional, Integration, GIS and Security teams.

The role will be based in Neuilly Sur Seine – France

Main missions expected are:

  • Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services, tools, and technologies to support application and infrastructure requirements.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to ensure smooth integration and continuous delivery of applications.
  • Automate deployment, monitoring, and management processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps to facilitate development and deployment cycles.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize cloud resources to ensure high availability and resilience.
  • Enforce security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, assessing their potential impact and benefits.
  • Document processes, configurations, and best practices to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing across teams.

Required Skills

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

Technical skills

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a focus on cloud environments.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms such as Azure including hands-on experience in designing, deploying and managing cloud-native services.
  • Expertise and hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, or ARM Templates for automated infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Proficiency with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with relevant tools and technologies.
  • Proficiency with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Expertise in managing Confluent Platform (Kafka) and DataStax Enterprise (DSE).
  • Ability to implement security best practices and ensure adherence to industry standards.

  • HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate
  • AZ-305 : Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • AZ-104: Azure Administrator Associate
  • AZ-400: Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions
  • AZ-500: Azure Security Engineer Associate
  • AZ-700: Azure Network Engineer Associate

Work experience

  • Hands-On Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in roles like DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Systems Engineer.
  • Cloud Experience: Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and applications.
  • Production Environments: Experience working in high-availability, scalable, and secure production environments.

Soft skills

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and stakeholders.
