Platform Architect (Compute, Network, Database,) Hybrid

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Platform Architect to design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable compute, network, and database infrastructure solutions. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of S.W.I.F.T.'s critical platforms.

What to Expect:

• As a Senior Linux Systems Support Engineer in the Windows and RHEL Services Squad, you will:
• Lead the architectural design and evolution of S.W.I.F.T.'s compute, network, and database platforms, ensuring alignment with business strategy and technical requirements
• Define and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and guidelines for platform development and operations
• Evaluate and recommend modern technologies and solutions to optimize platform performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of new platform components
• Develop comprehensive documentation including architectural diagrams, design specifications, and operational procedures
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior architects and engineers
• Participate in incident response and problem resolution for critical platform issues
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and security vulnerabilities related to compute, networks, and database infrastructure
• Deliver end-to-end architecture (network, compute, etc..) in line with business  objectives, technical and operational constraints
• Define and update Enterprise Architecture artefacts aligned with our Architecture     Governance

What will make you successful:

We are seeking professionals with:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 5 years focused on computing, network, and database platforms in large-scale enterprise environments
• Deep expertise in cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including IaaS, PaaS, and FaaS offerings
• Extensive experience with network architecture, including TCP/IP, routing protocols, firewalls, load balancing, and network security
• Strong proficiency in database technologies, including relational (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB), with experience in high availability and disaster recovery solutions
• Proven track record in designing and implementing highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex, and highly regulated environment
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cisco CCIE) are a plus
