This 3rd shift position consists of the use of established processes to plate, coat and treat metal items by immersion in a series of chemical or electrolytic solutions; thus, assuring the required production output to meet customer demand.
Performance:
1. Maintains a safe and environmentally appropriate work place
2. Incorporates good safety habits whether on the plating line or anywhere in the processes, equipment and accessories management for their lines in charge
3. Wears protective OSHA regulated gear at all times while plating
4. Executes and monitors the production process according to specification in the “Traveler”
5. Executes the schedule to meet customer delivery requirements
6. Willing to work in other processes/methods as needed
7. Document control.
Daily activities:
1. Processes material thru the whole cleaning, activation and plating process.
2. Makes sure documentation is complete and ready to run a job.
3. Assures that processes are followed as written in the traveler
4. Uses the traveler to document process parameters used during the processing of a job.
5. During the processing of a job, looks for possible quality issues and informs his/her supervisor of unusual conditions of the process or the material.
6. Does scanning of process steps as required.
7. Activities meant for transfer of shift (such as cleaning tanks, topping off the plating tanks, cleaning work area, communicating, etc.).
8. Participates in the daily Metrix meetings.
Continuous improvement:
1. Support for KAIZEN events when required
2. Provides feedback that allows for improvements
3. Support on 5S’s culture (maintenance)

Skills Required
