About the Role
As a Process (Maintenance) Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated production systems. This role involves working mainly with Beckhoff PLCs and KUKA robots, including programming, diagnostics, and code modifications to ensure reliable and efficient operation of equipment. You will support system upgrades, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating closely with engineering and production teams. In this role, you will report to the Controlling team group leader.
What You Will Do
- Lead the development of maintenance strategies and automation improvements for PLC-controlled systems and KUKA robotic cells
- Act as the point person on troubleshooting, fault diagnostics, code modifications, and ensuring equipment uptime and safety standards are upheld
- Continuously partner with colleagues in engineering, production, and operations to ensure that equipment reliability, performance targets, and production goals are met
- Be part of a team in the creation of standardized maintenance procedures, robot programs, and PLC logic updates to support efficient and safe operations
- Actively provide support in the establishment of preventive maintenance programs, automation best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve system performance
What You Need to Be Successful
- A thorough understanding of industrial automation systems, electrical and mechanical maintenance, and safety standards in a manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of experience with PLC-based control systems, automated production equipment, and industrial robotics (preferably KUKA)
- Demonstrable knowledge of PLC programming languages (C#, Structured Text, or Object Oriented Programming), robot programming, and system diagnostics
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining PLCs, robotic cells, HMIs, and related automation hardware and software
- Well-versed in preventive and corrective maintenance practices, continuous improvement methodologies, and collaboration with production and engineering teams

- Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field
- Professional certifications: PLC programming certification (e.g., Beckhoff, Siemens), KUKA Robot Programming or Maintenance certification; Lean, Six Sigma, or industrial safety training considered a strong plus
- Global experience: Experience collaborating with cross-functional or international engineering, OEM, or supplier teams in a manufacturing or production environment
- Industry knowledge: Strong knowledge of manufacturing industry requirements, including machine safety standards, electrical regulations, and preventive maintenance procedures
- Systems experience: Hands-on experience working with PLC/HMI systems, robotic control systems, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
