How you'll contribute 

As Plant Operations Director who excels in this role:

  • Directs departmental operations and resources to achieve organizational and facility objectives.

  • Develops and implements departmental goals, strategic plans, and standards aligned with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements.

  • Oversees and evaluates departmental operations, including facility management, service delivery, performance metrics, and issue resolution, to ensure quality and operational excellence.

  • Plans and manages staffing activities, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, disciplinary actions, and professional development.

  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, ensuring operations remain within approved financial parameters.

  • Coordinates and leads internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

  • Fosters a collaborative environment that supports professional growth and continuous improvement.

  • Ensures the department supports and contributes to the organization's continuum of care and operational priorities.

  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Serves internal staff and external stakeholders, including patients, clients, contractors, and vendors.

  • Handles sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA).

  • Applies organizational policies and procedures effectively and consistently.

  • Maintains knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.

  • Manages the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work to ensure quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance, and administering corrective action for staff.

 

What we're looking for 

Applicants should have obtained a Bachelor's Degree in related field (preferred). Additional requirements include:

  • Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education.

  • Business Mathematical Skills -- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.

  • Moderate Computer Skills -- Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.

  • Complex Communication -- Frequently communicates complex information and interacts with management. Can present, resolve, and address delicate situations. Can motivate and persuade others.

  • Varied Business Problems -- Problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situa-tion. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedent and practices.

  • Department Specific -- Decisions impact the management and operations within a department. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department.

  • Functional Independent Judgement -- Provides and sets goals and priorities for functional area. May make recommendations for department policies, practices, and programs. Makes decisions for and/or resolves problems for others.

  • Project Planning/Organization -- Handle multiple projects simultaneously including task delegation, project over-sight, and resource allocation.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or applicable work experience in lieu of education)
  • Experience managing facility operations, maintenance, or plant operations within a healthcare or similar environment
  • Budget preparation, monitoring, and fiscal management experience
  • Staff management experience including hiring, performance reviews, disciplinary action, and training
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA) and audit coordination
  • Project planning and organizational skills, including multitasking and resource allocation
  • Business mathematical skills (rates, ratios, percentages, graphs)
  • Moderate computer skills (electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics)
  • Strong communication skills for complex, sensitive interactions with management and stakeholders
