Plant Manager – Feed Mill Operations

What You’ll Do
Operations & Production Management
- Lead daily plant operations to meet production, quality, and customer goals.
- Plan and coordinate with shift supervisors to achieve manufacturing objectives on time and within budget.
- Optimize operations to increase capacity, flexibility, and quality while controlling costs.
- Monitor plant performance and take proactive corrective actions.
Cost Control & Efficiency
- Develop and manage production plans and budgets.
- Implement systems to control operating expenses, labor hours, and staffing levels.
- Use data to identify waste and drive continuous improvement.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to design and validate efficient processes.
Safety and Quality
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, company policies, and regulations.
- Maintain audit readiness and provide leadership for FSMA and HAACP certification.
- Serve as a Qualified Individual under FSMA, applying food safety protocols.
- Set policies to ensure consistent, high-quality operations.
Team Leadership & Development
- Serve as a visible, approachable leader on the plant floor.
- Manage, train, and develop hourly and salaried operations staff.
- Build a collaborative, motivated team culture.
- Address employee concerns promptly and constructively.
Strategic & Improvement Initiatives
- Lead projects to improve production, quality, and labor utilization.
- Align initiatives with company goals and provide clear direction.
- Develop systems to track performance and return on assets.
- Resolve production challenges quickly and effectively.
Who You Are
- A hands-on manufacturing leader with 3+ years in management or 10+ years of feed mill/production experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or agriculture preferred.
- Skilled in balancing strategy with on-the-floor leadership.
- Experienced in building strong teams, improving efficiency, and maintaining quality standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with data-driven decision making.
- Able to thrive under pressure and adapt quickly.
- A strong communicator and problem-solver with proven leadership results.
- Holds a valid driver’s license in good standing.

Skills Required
- 3+ years management experience or 10+ years feed mill/production experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or agriculture
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- Experience with FSMA and HAACP certification and ability to serve as a Qualified Individual under FSMA
- Experience applying lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement
- Experience developing and managing production plans and budgets
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen (hair and urine), physical, and criminal background check
