We are hiring a Plant Manager to run our Detroit factory floor and own safety, throughput, and quality across every shift.
You will:
Make safety the first priority every day, no exceptions
Run the floor. Own daily execution across all saws and shifts
Manage technicians very well
Be an amazing leader that can inspire
Be obsessed with throughput
Be obsessed with efficiency
Remove bottlenecks then find the next ones
Own quality. Every cut ships to spec the first time
Use data to make decisions without drowning in dashboards. Numbers guide, intuition decides
Work across every department to keep material, orders, and people flowing
Partner closely with our software engineering team. You are their eyes on the floor and they build what you need
You should be:
Experienced. 4 to 8 years running a factory floor or leading production teams
Strong on intuition. You can walk the floor and know what's wrong before the report says so
Sharp with practical math. Yields, cycle times, capacity, margins
Full of tribal knowledge about machines, metal, and the people who run both
Urgent, organized, and fast
Low ego, high agency. You handle big items alone and ask for help when you need it
Customer obsessed. The part ships on time or you know why
Never someone who says "that's not my job"
This role is full time, in person in Detroit.
Skills Required
- 4 to 8 years running a factory floor or leading production teams
- Proven ability to prioritize and enforce safety as the top concern
- Experience managing technicians and supervising multiple shifts
- Strong practical math skills (yields, cycle times, capacity, margins)
- Deep knowledge of metalworking, saws, machines, and shop processes
- Demonstrated ability to drive throughput, efficiency, and continuous improvement
- Proven quality ownership ensuring parts ship to spec first time
- Strong leadership and communication skills; able to inspire and coordinate cross-functional teams
- Comfort using data to guide decisions and partnering with software engineers
- Willingness to work full time, in person in Detroit
